In Mexico and Spain Halloween is famous as the Day of the Dead. But it's not a sad time, just the opposite - it's a time for real happiness!
At this time of the year the Monarch butterflies, that go to the USA and Canada for summertime, are coming back to Mexico. People believe that they are the spirits of the dead and warmly greet them. In the evening they light the special candles and leave them for the whole night - it's a time to honour the dead.
